I get into many arguments with both friends and family about forgiveness and how I forgive everybody regardless of what they have done. I think it’s so important, if we don’t forgive other people how can we expect God to forgive us? :)
I go to a Catholic School where the education is pretty good and most of the students are really nice. The school grounds are good and we have the most up to date resources that the government lets us have. By the start of next year, all the students will either have an iPad or a netbook (mini…
I think their resistance has more to do with them being adults than it does with them being from the Church. When you’re running a Catholic school in thirty years, and some snot-nosed kid wants to play a song that you don’t think is pretty at all, you’ll probably wish it was a hymn too. Atheist Friend:You know Christmas is on Dec. 25th because its predecessor Saturnalia was on Dec. 25th? Christianity is really Paganism.
Me:Ok. So what?
Friend:Well, doesn't that make Christianity less true?
Me:I don't know. You tell me. Is Paganism less true than Christianity?
Friend:Well, yeah.
Me:So Christianity is more true than paganism.
Friend:Yeah.
Me:So there is truth in Christianity.
Friend:I didn't say that.
Me:Of course you did. You said Christianity was more true than paganism. That means there must be some truth in Christianity to make it more true than paganism. Something can't be more true if it doesn't have any truth.
Friend:Ok, I guess.
Me:Great. So you're practically a Christian. Oh, and Saturnalia actually started on Dec. 17th and ended on the 23rd. No big deal.
A blog by a burgeoning contemporary poet who is unapologetically Catholic. Though a new blog, expect to see postings about Advent, spiritual poetry that grapples with the Truth of being Catholic, as well as other decent published poetry.
